PowerVista Software also specializes in the design and development of database application software for business. Since 1990, we have provided custom software solutions for both large and small companies. PowerVista is comprised of a dynamic team of individuals with extensive backgrounds in computer science, management information systems, and project management. These skills are the crucial pieces that will give you a strategic advantage in your software development process. We can fulfill the role of a complete development team, or we can serve as an extension to your staff, contributing key pieces of expertise.

We specialize in database applications using both industry standard database such as Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server and Pervasive SQL.2000, as well as our own royalty free, standalone database engine. We continually research GUI standards, and maintain a set of shareware applications that highlight the best practices we find.

Our consulting services fall into three categories:

Customize a PowerVista Application: All PowerVista applications, such as RollCall, are built using PowerVista Bridge. The source code for each application and the Style Library used to build the application are available with the development environment, and can be used by either PowerVista developer or internal developers to cost effectively create custom solutions for any business.

Complete application: We work with you to assess your needs and create a detailed requirements specification. We then use our own tools as well as our considerable project management and development experience to build your application quickly, on time, and within budget. Because we use our own tools, we can build your application more economically than any other method.

Customized development environment:  A customized development environment is created with a specialized Style Library that matches an application design. Usually between 5 and 8 styles, this allows the consistent windows of an application to be generated very quickly. After generation, internal developers add specialized processing or layout features. Windows can be regenerated at any time to include additional fields or database schema changes. PowerVista can also make a custom version of the PowerVista development environment that works with ANY database. This enables  transition away from older or proprietary old tools gradually. After we have implemented a custom database independence (dib) layer in PowerVista, you can replace modules as your time and budget allow. After all modules are replaced, you can simply change one keyword in PowerVista, and start using an open solution such as Oracle, or MS SQL Server.
